1.1 Teaching Methods

Students in each year level are divided into two categories in their English classes: standard and higher. Standard being the students with standard competence in english-related skills. Higher being the section of students with advanced and excellent english-related skills.

 

The English language utilized is the English standard. Their books are from Cambridge Publications with inclusions of audio and video activities.

 

Students practice the English Language through a set of activities that inculcate the microskills of English in each lesson or unit. Teachers taught their students with the use of a variety of sources and materials making the students highly-literate in the field of technology.

 

Since English is a foreign language in Indonesia, it is very important to include practices or seatwork activities every lessons for them to apply and employ the English Language.

1.2 Learning Materials and Innovation

The school is rich in materials and appliances accessible making it a good learning environment. Students use their chromebook in answering quizzes, tests and making their assignments which highly promotes a paper-less working space.

 

Teachers employ online sites for evaluation and assessment of their lessons such as quizizz.com, some application in the chromebook, etc. This doesn’t just save paper and other materials but also time and energy. Opening of Social Media sites are banned in the school, therefore making online learning appropriate for the students.

  • Reading hours (Students have to read an English book assigned by their teacher)

1.4 Authentic Assessment

Teachers assign students in making projects that are inclined with the lesson and are helpful not just for the students but also to the environment and to their community.
