Educational Philosophy
The founders of Mercu Buana University in Yogyakarta believe that happiness and well-being are the blessings of Allah SWT and are the ideals of all humanity. Therefore Mercu Buana Yogyakarta University seeks to contribute to helping the Indonesian people in general to realize these ideals through the provision of education, teaching, research and community service.
Vision
Menjadi Universitas Unggul, Mutu, dan Bermanfaat bertaraf Internasional pada tahun 2029.
Translation:
To become a University of Excellence, Quality, and Benefit of International standard in 2029.
Mission:
Menyelenggarakan pendidikan tinggi yang bermutu untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang memiliki kerunggulan dalam ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan/atau seni dan mampu bersaing pada tingkat nasional dan global, serta peduli kepada masyarakat prasejahtera sebagai perwujudan cita-cita "Angudi Mulyaning Bangsa."
Translation:
To organize quality tertiary education to produce graduates who excel in science, technology and / or art and are able to compete at national and global levels, and care for underprivileged people as a manifestation of the ideals of "Fight for Better Life and Better Country."

The basic form of the symbol of the Mercu Buana University of Yogyakarta is an oval symbolizing strength in upholding the principles of truth and balance.

Visually the symbol of the University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta in the form of a flame which is divided into three parts which symbolize the Tridharma of Higher Education under it written by the University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta. The flame in the middle of the highest symbolizes the dharma of education, two flames of equal height which flank it symbolizing the dharma of research and community service.

The flames imply the determination and commitment of the founders and successors to provide and make the academic community of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta as a benefit to the environment.

Different fire heights represent a dynamic vision, besides symbolizing targets that can be explained and followed up clearly.

ENGLISH EDUCATION (PBI) is a study program under the Teaching and Education Faculty of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta University which was established in 2010; hold undergraduate programs (S1) with skill-based curricula that are interpreted in a class of subjects: 1) English Teaching; 2) Linguistics; 3) Literature .
